Start Of The Low-Carb Diet
Today is the day I begin a low carb, high protein and realitivly high fat diet. I have been doing lots of reading about the topic and I figure, screw it, i’ll give it ago. I feel that my workouts are doing my body well but that I’m not eating enough caleries to fuel muscle growth. If i’m working out I may as well go the whole hog and do the diet as well. So here’s the diet plan:
During The Week:
- Keep daily net carb to approximately 30grams (net carbs = carbs - fibre)
- Eat lots of low carb fruit and vegetables to increase vitamin intake
On The Weekend:
- The weekend is a “Carb-up” period, where I will not be restircting my carb intake
- Lower the fat intake on the weekends
I will endevour to post daily meal logs as well as their carb contents.
Having high cholestoral previously worries me starting this high fat diet. When I am finished the next 5-6 weeks of the diet I will be getting a bloodtest to check my cholestoral levels to make sure things are still in order - if they have gone up I will be returning to my regualary, day to day diet.
If I see big improvements and a continued low cholestoral resualt - the “diet” will turn into a way of life.
